A Life Well Lived
Creating or designing a great life, a life that is in harmony and satisfying, involves self-awareness, self-management, and the right attitude. It's about living life at “A Pace of Grace”, to quote the title of a recently published book by Linda Kavelin Popov.
How do we achieve this?
... by
. living simply
and avoiding all the things that clutter and add chaos to our
lives.
. eating sustaining food that nourishes our bodies.
. avoiding negative thoughts and situations that add
to our stress.
. creating boundaries that help us preserve our energy, keep our
integrity and protect our spirit.
. being prudent and being responsible with our finances.
. living life with zest, curiosity an attitude of
gratitude and optimism.
. being able to love and be loved.
. avoiding self absorption and multi-tasking and paying attention
to the little things that we so frequently overlook.
. being awestruck by the beauty of our landscape.
. having an insatiable appetite for knowledge and learning.
… perhaps most importantly,
connecting to something bigger than us.
When it’s time to start thinking about what we’re going to leave behind for future generations, reflecting on our lives is important, not only to our own wellbeing but the wellbeing of those we leave.
We can do this by creating a gift for the future:
. working out whether we want to be an inspiration, leaving behind
memories that uplift, or instead leaving uncertainty and resentment.
. making meaning of our lives
and passing on the wisdom and insights gained from living life well,
with all its accompanying mistakes, regrets, achievements and successes.
.by making peace and asking for
forgiveness (perhaps in a letter we'll never post), from those who
we haven’t been able to face to ask for this in person.
. taking responsibility for voicing
our preferences and wishes that enable ‘goodwill’ after
we've gone.
. leaving behind a record of our
stories and experiences, so that our descendants can know more about
us.
. having an input into what we
would like at our farewell; the music hymns, poems or readings we’d
like to share.
Our mission
…To pass on the stories, experiences and the wisdom of a ‘life well lived’ to future generations, in order to provide them with a ‘sense of place’ along the line between ancestors and descendants.
…To record the life stories and wishes of the elderly and in doing so, give them a voice.
Help
your grandchildren and great grandchildren make sense of their
heritage!
We can arrange a recording of your life story, goodwill, preferences and wishes on CD or DVD.
